Causing Scenes...Just for FUN

Dear God,
Thank you for helping us discover the recreational activity that so embraces the spirit of fun that you may have just given us an express ticket to Hell had we not included it in our quest for a "fun filled post collegiate livelihood" (note: we're doing our best to deoxymoronify this statement). And what's more fun than improv?

Thanks for getting our backs on this one, God. You're The Man.

Love,
SOF

We know you're probably wondering where you've seen this blue polo shirt khaki pants wearing brood before. Here are some helpful hints: computer games and washing machines. Long lines at Christmas time. Geek Squad.

If you've ever found yourself in Best Buy, you've seen this uniform and its smiley faced wearers. But this gang isn't your average Best Buy customer service team. THESE PEOPLE ARE IMPOSTERS!!!!

The trick: They're a part of the Improv Everywhere project and their main goal is to have a laugh (in the spirit of fun) while taking part in some of the most imaginative acts of improv New York City has ever seen (in the spirit of teamwork).

This particular "Mission" (Their word not ours) was to dress up as Best Buy floorites and meet in Union Square. Once there, they would caravan over to the Best Buy as a group, entering the store together, and photographing/filming the "what the hell" looks that appeared on the faces of customers and sales associates alike. MY FAVORITE PART: They actually aided customers if they were approached and questioned about certain products and they promised service with a smile.

(wow...there isn't a toot toot enthusiastic enough for this bunch)

Other stunts include the Cell Phone Symphony, where IEers would meet at a retail store where their bags would be checked---their cell phones on ring mode tucked comfortably inside. At the exact second, all of the cell phones would be called, the large scale ring evoking disbelief in everyone nearby.

And how about the No Pants Subway Ride that the group takes every year. Don't panic...there were boxer shorts (and a side of arrest last year with cases that were later thrown out.)

Toot toot times infinity!

the one they did last fall RIGHT BY FIT was awesome-- a man threatening to commit suicide by jumping off the 4-ft ledge on that building on 8th ave. the "police" even brought his "wife" in to try to talk him out of it, while his "boss" inched his way out along the ledge too to plead with him. "you don't want to do this man. it's christmas... think of the kids!"

p.s. cornell interns afflicted with life-threatening boredom <3 SOF
